Home remodeling is the work for a house that needs more than one room changed. Mulberry Creek Construction can take out a wall to open up a floor plan. We lay new floors from room to room and hang new drywall. Trim, interior doors, lighting and paint finish the job, along with the plumbing and electrical changes the plan needs.

You deal with one contractor for the whole house. Mulberry Creek Construction is based in Woodward. We work about 150 miles around it, across northwest and western Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City metro. A whole-home plan can take in kitchen remodeling or bathroom remodeling too.

What goes into a whole house remodel?

A whole house remodel changes several rooms under one plan, within the footprint of the house you have. In one house, that might mean new floors and paint everywhere. In another, it means opening the living room to the kitchen and replacing the interior doors. Building onto the house is an addition, and that is a job for a home builder.

Opening up a floor plan starts with what the wall holds up. If it is load bearing, an engineer plans what will carry the load once it is gone. Any wiring or plumbing inside the wall gets moved as part of the job. A wall that comes out leaves a gap in the floor and ceiling, which new drywall and flooring cover.

Plan to stay in the house as you age? A remodel is a good time to widen doorways for a walker or a wheelchair. That work falls under our aging in place remodeling.

Interior remodeling with one point of contact

A whole-home job pulls in many trades. Drywall, flooring installation, tile installation and painting all come into it, along with plumbing and electrical work. Hire them one at a time, and the schedule is yours to run. When a problem turns up, the trades can end up blaming each other.

Turnkey work is one of the things we specialize in as a remodeling contractor serving Woodward. Every trade on the job runs through us, and we coordinate the whole project. You keep one point of contact until the last room is done. We are responsible for all of it.

Most of our work happens inside, and exterior updates can join the same plan when a project calls for them. A fresh coat of exterior paint is one example. Look at the color samples in morning and afternoon light before you pick one.

Home renovation for rental houses in Woodward

About 1 in 3 occupied homes in Woodward is rented, by the Census Bureau's 2020 to 2024 survey. Many of those rentals are single-family houses. When a tenant moves out, the house may need new flooring, drywall patches, fresh paint and new doors.

We handle rental turnovers for homeowners who rent out a house. One call covers the whole list, and you get the quote in writing. The same goes for interior repairs in the house you live in.

Own an office or a storefront too? Tenant improvements for business property fall under our commercial remodeling work.

FAQ

Home Remodeling Questions, Answered

Common questions about home remodeling around Woodward and the Oklahoma City metro. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (580) 216-9022

How much does a whole-home remodel cost?
It depends on how many rooms are in the plan and how much changes in each one. Taking out a wall or moving plumbing and wiring adds work, and so do the finishes you pick. Older walls can also hide damage that changes the scope once they are open. We look at the house and give you a free written estimate, so call or text (580) 216-9022.
Can we stay in the house while you work?
Often, yes. The work can move through the house in stages, so part of it stays usable. The hard stretch comes when the kitchen or the only bathroom is torn out. We plan that part of the schedule with you before work starts.
Should we remodel the whole house at once or room by room?
Either way can work. One plan for the whole house lets a new floor run through the doorways without a break. The trim and doors can match from room to room, too. Going room by room spreads the work out, but it still helps to plan the whole house first.
Will remodeling mean new smoke alarms?
It can. Under Oklahoma's residential code, remodel work that needs a permit means smoke alarms where a new house needs them. That includes an alarm in each bedroom and one outside each sleeping area, and added alarms may run on batteries. Exterior work and plumbing-only jobs are exceptions, and the local permit office has the final word.
Do you take on smaller handyman remodeling jobs?
Yes. Smaller interior projects fit under home remodeling, like new doors in a few rooms or new flooring in one room. Interior repairs count too, such as a damaged wall or a door that sticks. Each job gets a free estimate in writing before work starts.
